Representative Keith Ellison (DFL-Minnesota) joins host Welton Gaddy to talk about the report issued Monday on how the Justice Department used religious views and political ideology in selecting employees for the Justice Department. Keith Ellison is serving his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He sits on the House Financial Services and Judiciary committees.

And as Texas moves forward with a law allowing the Bible to be taught in the state’s public schools, Kathy Miller of the Texas Freedom Network tells Welton what’s missing from the new legislation.

Plus, progressive and Catholic? Author and social ethicist Daniel Maguire shares insight from his new book, Whose Church: A Concise Guide to Progressive Catholicism. Daniel Maguire is Professor of Moral Theological Ethics at Marquette University.

And we hear from you! Welton responds to listeners’ comments and shares his own thoughts on the recent tragedy at a Unitarian Universalist Church in Tennessee.
