The respected Southern Poverty Law Center is under attack by organizations, like the Family Research Council, that are enraged at being exposed for what they do – fund and foment anti-gay bigotry, discrimination and even violence. Although one lawsuit against the SPLC is currently moving forward, the 2011 interview with SPLC’s Mark Potok that we revisit this week reminds us that the legendary civil rights organization has long been a target of the political religious right.
