National Religious Freedom Day was this past Thursday, a celebration of the 234th anniversary of the adoption of Thomas Jefferson’s Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, the eventual basis for the Establishment Clause.

Unfortunately, the Trump administration chose that day to make several announcements that jeopardize true religious freedom for all. This week on State of Belief, Interfaith Alliance’s weekly radio show and podcast, we will dissect this new guidance on religious freedom – including the issue of prayer in public schools (settled in law for nearly 60 years.) Kathryn Joseph, Policy and Legislation Advisor for Interfaith Alliance, will join Welton to discuss the latest from an administration which seems poised to tear down the wall of separation.
