Here’s what’s coming up this weekend on State of Belief Radio –
The Helms Amendment. It’s been used to block government funding of numerous important programs based on an aversion to funding abortion under any circumstances. A coalition of faith and secular groups is working to moderate ways this policy is being misused to withhold foreign aid for victims of sexual violence, and we’ll get an update from the Rev. Harry Knox, President and CEO of the Religious Coalition for Religious Choice.
Also, America’s changing religious landscape: boy did it change in the first half of the last century. We’ll hear some eye-opening challenges to the Christian Nation view of our past from historian Kevin Kruse. His new book is titled One Nation Under God: How Corporate America Invented Christian America.
And we’ll talk about what the Supreme Court’s ruling in the E-E-O-C v. Abercrombie & Fitch case means – and should mean – regarding true religious liberty.
