In another interfaith first, President Obama welcomed Sikhs to the White House for the first ever White House celebration of the birth anniversary of the Guru Nanak, the first guru of Sikhism. 125 Sikhs attended the ceremony along with administration staffers and the President.  Earlier this year, Obama also became the first president to take part in the White House celebration of the Hindu festival, Diwali.
