Irshad Manji, author of the best-selling The Trouble With Islam Today, and the head of the Moral Courage Project at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University, talked to Welton in advance of the 10th anniversary of 9/11 about her latest book, Allah, Liberty and Love: The Courage to Reconcile Faith and Freedom (just banned in Malaysia) and the ways that followers of all faiths can counter what she calls “dogmatic” forces that are alienating many of those followers.
