Here’s what’s coming up this weekend on State of Belief Radio –

The first Democratic Presidential Debate. No talk of religion, but did the candidates offer hope for freedom, religious and otherwise, in their positions? Journalist Sarah Posner will be with us to discuss what we heard.

Also, at age 94, retired Catholic Bishop of Sacramento Francis Quinn has pretty much seen it all during his almost-seven-decades in the Church. He’ll be with us to share his ideas on what Pope Francis could be doing to change the Church for the 21st Century during the current Synod –  and beyond. Bishop Quinn penned a recent New York Times op-ed headlined, How the Pope Might Renew the Church.

And “Belief,” a wide-ranging new documentary mini-series premieres Sunday night on the Own Television network. Executive Producers include Oprah Winfrey and David Smith, and we’ll be talking to one of them about this ambitious and important project, which premieres on Sunday, October 18th.
